Lady Sophia Charlotte Howard, Duchess of Bedford Territory

Lady Sophia Charlotte Howard, the great grandmother of Lord Richard William Carey, Duke of Bedford Territory.

Lord William Phillip Carey was of a good gentry family whose grandfather, Lord Robert Phillip Carey traveled with Lord Patrick William Howard from Pre-World War Three Planet Earth on April 30, 2153.

Lord William Phillip Carey's father was Lord Robert Phillip Carey named for his paternal grandfather and his wife, Lady Louisa Marie Valois.

Lord William Phillip Carey was born in 2182 three year before Lady Sophia Charlotte was born to Lord Frederick William Howard and his wife, Lady Jeanette Virginia Beaufort in 2185.

Lady Sophia Charlotte met the dashing, handsome, Lord William Carey through her eldest brother, Lord Frederick William Howard who was born in 2180 and who was two years older than Lord William Carey.

Lord William Carey and Lady Jeannette Virginia Beaufort were related through a common ancestor, Lord John Beaufort, the eldest son of John of Gaunt and his son, Lord John of Gaunt and his son, Lord Edmund Beaufort and both his son, Lord Charles and his daughter, Lady Eleanor Beaufort.

Lady Jeanette Virginia came through the male line and Lord William Carey came through the matrinenal line of Lord John Beaufort and his grandson, Lord Edmund Beaufort.

Lady Jeanette was very happy when she heard that her daughter was going to court and marry her distant cousin, Lord William Carey, but it was Lord Frederick William Howard who wasn’t that happy about the match.

Lady Jeanette tells her husband, “ Lord Frederick William Howard. We both know why you married me so you could get your hands on my inheritance, but it will never happen.”

“I have a brother, Lord Charles Beaufort and he is married and he has a son, Lord Thomas and he will inherit the title and property.” Lady Jeanette tells him.

A war breaks out between Lord Frederick William Howard , his wife, Lady Jeanette and their two older sons, Lord Frederick William and Lord Charles Andrew when the marriage comes up with Lord Frederick William.

Lord Frederick William Howard II and Lord Charles Andrew Howard draw their swords and tell their father  “ Old man. Don’t stand in the way of our sister’s happiness because if you do we will cut you into collops and you will force us to turn our mother into a widow.”

Lady Jeanette calls her sons to bring her sword and Lord Charles Andrew hands his mother her sword and she threatens “ I will kill you myself, Lord Frederick William if you stand in the way of my daughter’s happiness.”

What can Lord Frederick William Howard do when it is three against one, but reluctantly agree to the marriage of Lady Sophia Charlotte to Lord William Carey.

Lord Frederick William Howard on a sunny June day in 2207, walks his only daughter, Lady Sophia Charlotte up the aisle in the chapel at Norfolk Estate to marry Lord William Phillip Carey.

As Lord Frederick William Howard is walking Lady Sophia Charlotte up the aisle, both Lord Frederick William and Lord Charles Andrew and their youngest brother, Lord Andrew Charles have their swords drawn ready to slaughter him if he stands in the way of their only sister’s happiness.

Lord Frederick William II and Lord Charles Andrew watch their father place their sister’s hand into Lord William's hand and watch him join their mother in the front pew.

Lord Frederick William Howard never forgives his eldest son, Lord Frederick William Howard II for marrying Lady Antoinette Bourbon without his consent.

Even though Lord Charles Andrew Howard and Lady Sophia Charlotte plead with their ruthless father, Lord Frederick William Howard Senior, that he is being unfair. He doesn’t care.

Lady Sophia Charlotte doesn’t have her first child until the same time that her sister in law, Lady Alexandra Elizabeth gives birth to her eldest nephew, Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR.

In fact, Lord George Frederick Carey and Lord Charles Andrew Howard Junior are first cousins to each other and they grow up together and Lady Sophia Charlotte and Lady Alexandra Elizabeth become very close to each other and they watch their sons grow up together.

Lord Charles Andrew Senior has always liked Lord William Carey as well as his two brothers, Lord Frederick William II and Lord Andrew Charles.

Both Lord George Frederick Carey and Lord Charles Andrew Howard Junior were born in 2209, and in 2210 Lord Charles Andrew Howard Senior became Duke of Norfolk Territory.

Lady Sophia Charlotte and Lord William decide on having two children and their second child,  a daughter, Lady Georgiana Henrietta Carey is born at the same time that Lady Alexandra Elizabeth has Lady Sophia Charlotte’s brother’s, second son, Lord Richard Edward Howard in 2215.

There is a big difference between Lord William Carey and his brother in law, Lord Charles Andrew Howard Senior and it is that Lord William Carey will allow his children to marry for love and he will not force them into a loveless marriage to people that they will not love.

Both Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR and Lord George  Frederick Carey marry in June of 2228, but the difference is Lord George Carey married the woman he loved, Lady Isabella Bourbon and Lord Charles Andrew Howard was made to marry a woman that he would never love but together with her they would have five children.

Both Lord George and Lord Charles Andrew JR had sons born to them in 2230 with the birth of Lord Charles Andrew Howard and Lord Robert Frederick Carey.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard III and Lord Robert Frederick Carey were third  cousins sharing the same great-great-grandfather, Lord Frederick William Howard

Lord Robert Frederick Carey in 2248 at the age of 18 would marry his distant cousin, Lady Lettice Isabella Knolly, and in June of 2250, Lady Lettice would give birth to the first two of their children, Lord Richard William Carey and in December, Lady Patricia Eugenie would give birth to Lord Charles Andrew JR and her fifth child and third son, Lord Andrew Charles in December of 2250.

Lady Lettice would go on to have a second child in September of 2256, a daughter, Lady Richenda Wilhelmina Carey.

Lord Robert and Lady Lettice continued to raise their two children until 2260, when famine broke out on Rigel Seven and Lord Robert feared for the lives of his children  and he feared a similar event would happen on Rigel Seven as it did on Talos IV where the governor would play god and decide who would be fed and you would be executed.

Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR asked his second cousin, Lord Robert to send his two children to come to live with his father and his Aunt on Star Base 12 in Bedford Territory where they would be safe.

Reluctantly, Lord Robert and Lady Lettice depart with their two children, Lord Richard age ten years old and Lady Richenda age 4 years old and place them into a shuttle craft that will take them to live with the paternal grandfather, Lord George and their aunt, Lady Roberta on Star Base 12.

Lord Robert entrusts Lord Richard  to make sure that his sister makes a worthy match when the time comes for her to marry and the two children never see their father and mother again after 2260.

Lord Richard William Carey became Duke of Bedford Territory on June 20, 2270.
